The three watches that broke our cutter

Most luxury watches are cut from the same case geometries year after year. A 41mm Submariner case has been recognisably 41mm for twenty years. A Royal Oak octagon is still an octagon.

Then there are the ones that aren't. The 2024 Yacht-Master 42 added a 0.3mm beveled flange we missed on first templating. The new ultra-thin Royal Oak 16202 cut 1.2mm out of the middle case. And there is one RM model — we won't say which — where the case is so asymmetric we had to template it three times.
